MOSCOW, Jan 15 (PRIME) -- Russian metals and mining giant Mechel has prolonged a contract with Turkish steel producer Kardemir to raise exports of metallurgic coke by almost 70% to 200,000 tonnes in 2019, Mechel said in a statement on Tuesday.
The company will sell coke produced by Mechel’s Moscow Coke and Gas Plant through the Mechel-Temryuk port in the Krasnodar Region at a price defined at quarterly negotiations, the company said.
Mechel raised coke exports by 16% on the year in January–September 2018, and the deal with Kardemir was one of the reasons for the growth, the company said quoting Pavel Shtark, CEO of Mechel-Mining.
